Congratulations to Lynn Hamel on her winning the Bronze medal in the 3000 mtrs pursuit at the Nation Track Championships at Manchester on the 20th September 2008 with a time of 3:55:761. From the report on the British Cycling website it sounds to have been an exciting ride off for the bronze medal:

The bronze medal ride off was a very close affair, with Hamel going off very quickly, but being pegged back by Sadler-Andrews. Both were well inside their qualifying times at every time check. It wasn’t until the final kilometre that Hamel dragged herself into a winning position as Sadler-Andrews began to fade, but even at the very end the gap was coming back down again, reflecting a very close hard-fought race. Hamel went to win by just under 2 seconds.
